Simple Sugar

Our name is our philosophy…

Our cupcakes, cakes, cookies, muffins, pies and other baked goods don’t contain complicated ingredients. If we can’t pronounce it, we don’t use it. We provide made-to-order desserts with things like fresh cream, sugar, butter and eggs. We use high quality ingredients to make desserts that are simply beautiful and beautifully simple.

Who is Simple Sugar, and what sets us apart?

We are three women who love food, who appreciate great food. The mass-produced desserts that are readily available are not foods we wanted to eat or to serve. We create desserts that we want to eat, sweets that we feel good about serving to our loved ones. Not everyone has the time to make two dozen personalized mini cupcakes for their child’s school holiday party, or the desire to make a scrumptious layer cake for a special dinner, but baking those treats is what we love to do.

We came together with a common vision and a wealth of career and life experiences (MBA, public relations executive, stay-at-home mother) to create Simple Sugar. Our goal is simple: to make delicious baked goods with fresh, wholesome ingredients that you will be proud to serve to your friends and family.*

Testimonials

“I’ve been meaning to send this message for a whole week now :) The cake was a huge success. I had a group of adults at Cole’s birthday party that thought the cake was fabulous. This is a pretty picky group that have had cakes from Mulberries, Gateaux, etc. and everyone agreed that your cake tasted better!! Just wanted to pass on the compliments.”

“Thank you again for Tal’s AWESOME birthday cake. We are all still talking about the perfection of the lemon filling — as Georgie puts it, “it wasn’t pretty good, it was REALLY good!” We can’t wait to order from you again and again . . . and to pass the word to our friends who have been recently disillusioned…”
- Lisa Lane Filholm

“When Simple Sugar Bakery served its peach cobbler at our backyard party of thirty, backs straightened, eyes brightened, heads nodded. There was a mass swoon, and when the novices were revived they swore they smelled magnolias. ”
